I was born in England but have been living in Virginia for the last 4 1/2 years. I started fishing at the age of 7 when my older brother took me to catch minnows at a local stream – I’ve been passionate about the sport ever since. I caught my first intentionally targeted carp back in 1977 and have had a fascination with the species ever since. Highlight of my competitive angling career was finishing runners up in last years World Carp Championship with partner Stewart McKenzie but as a rule I’m just happy pitching my skills against the fish rather than other anglers. Work and family prevent me from getting out fishing as much as I’d like but I thought it’d be interesting to take part in this first American Carp League just to see how my totals stack up against others taking part. I’d like to take the opportunity to say thank you to Quest Baits and Greys Rods both of whom have provided great support over the last twelve months.. Good luck to all competitors – I’ll be checking the leaderboard regularly!!
