Originally from the UK, I apprenticed in the usual way through catching a range of species using all sorts of methods, and progressed to intentionally fishing for carp around 1981, just as the hair rig was being publicized. I cut my teeth on Waveney Valley Lakes in Norfolk and on later on Heslington Lake, York while studying at college. In 1987, I moved to London and hung up my rods for the next 15 years until I got married and landed in Princeton, New Jersey, surrounded by virgin carp. I am enjoying honing my skills again here in the company of like-minded carping pioneers. |
