Angler Info

Name: Ledford, Tim
State Represented: GA
Bio: I discovered that there is actually something out there to fish for besides trout, bluegill, yellow perch, and crappie in late 2005 and have been “hooked” on carp every since. Prior to that I had downsized my fresh water gear as much as possible; short limber rods; never used line over 6 lbs. test; this is certainly a different ballgame (started out using my 7’ salt surf rods; never dreamed I would be using 12’ rods someday)…We have lots of lakes and rivers (large and small) in north Georgia that contain carp and virtually unfished (for carp); some (reportedly) with commons caught weighing in excess of 40 lbs. One thing I have particularly enjoyed is after fishing for carp at a location for a few weeks, watching other fishermen and their families begin to target them…There’s lots of potential here to bring in new members, these are big fish and a blast to catch (for the “Average Joe” out fishing on a Sunday afternoon with his family, catching a 5 lb. fish (for most casual fishermen a 5 pound fish is big) is a big thrill.
